Corporate and Collegiate Ekiden races are followed and televised across Japan akin to the NFL in the US. The All-Japan Corporate Ekiden Championship, therefore, produces the most prestigious team title in the country. Teams are comprised of 6 runners, in this race, it is not uncommon to find individuals with medals from the world championships or Olympic qualifiers. |

Takayuki Matsumiya - of the winning Konica-Minolta team ran the fastest time over the 22K 2nd leg, creating a gap between his team and the rest of the field which was not closed during the rest of the race. Matsumiya was runner up in the Rotterdam Marathon in 2007 but is hoping to qualify for Beijing from the track.

Daisuke Isomatsu breaks the tape for the Konica-Minolta team, securing the team's 6th title in 8 years. Isomatsu ran the second fastest time over the 6th leg of the race. |
